ITALIAN STUDY VISA Interview Questions You Must Prepare For

1. Personal & Background Questions

Introducation: Introduce yourself

  • Why did you choose Italy for your studies?
(Mention Italy's academic reputation, specific program strengths, or cultural ties)

  • Why this university? (Show you've researched – e.g., faculty, courses, rankings)

  • Have you ever been to Italy before?

  • Do you have relatives/friends in Italy? (Be honest – having family may raise concerns about immigration intent)

2. Study Plan & Academic Goals

  • What program will you study? Explain its structure.
(Know your course modules, duration, and language of instruction)

  • How does this program align with your past education/career?
(Highlight academic continuity – e.g., "My bachelor’s in CS prepared me for this AI master’s")

  • What are your career plans after graduation?
(Emphasize returning home – e.g., "I’ll join my country’s tech sector to apply my skills")

3. Financial Proof & Accommodation

  • How will you fund your studies?
(Refer to your bank statements, scholarships, or sponsor letters)

  • Who is your sponsor? What is their income?
(Provide documents like tax returns if parents are sponsoring)

  • Where will you live in Italy?
(Show proof: university dorm booking, rental agreement, or host declaration)

4. Language Proficiency

  • Is your program in Italian or English?
(If Italian: Prove B1/B2 certification. If English: Show IELTS/TOEFL)

  • Can you introduce yourself in Italian? (Basic phrases help, even for English-taught programs)

5. Post-Study Plans

  • Will you work part-time during studies?
(Say "yes" but focus on studies: "Only 20 hours/week allowed, my priority is academics")

  • Do you plan to stay in Italy after graduation?
(Always say no: "I’ll return home to apply my knowledge")

What should be Avoided:

  • Inconsistent answers about finances/university details.

  • No post-graduation plan ("Maybe I’ll travel Europe").

  • Gaps in education/work – Prepare a justification.
  • Weak financial proof – Ensure funds cover tuition + living costs.

  • Poor English – Practice basic conversational skills.

  • Unclear study goals – Be specific about how the program helps your career.
